In September, students from the High School Division of Shanghai Starriver Bilingual Schooln (SSBS) gathered in the gymnasium for the new semester Welcome Party.

The event featured a variety of games and activities, including Werewolf, Who Is the Undercover, UNO, the “Don’t Do It Challenge,” cornhole, and the traditional Chinese game of pitch-pot. Mario Kart was especially popular, with students competing on the virtual racetrack and cheering one another on.

A refreshment area gave students a chance to enjoy food, relax, and catch up with friends. A signing and photo area near the entrance also attracted many students, who stopped by to take pictures with both old friends and new classmates.

Later in the evening, attention shifted to the stage. The Dance Club opened the performance section with an energetic routine, followed by a live performance from Entropy Band. Students danced, sang along, and recorded the performances on their phones as music filled the gymnasium.

The Welcome Party provided SSBS students with an opportunity to relax, connect with one another, and celebrate the beginning of a new school year. The laughter, music, and shared moments from the evening marked a lively and memorable start to the semester.
