On the afternoon of December 24, 2025, the winter time campus was lit up with the cheer and excitement that accompanied the opening of the 2026 New Year Party. The show repeatedly blew away the audience with thirty-five diverse performances ranging from classical music, traditional dance, and martial arts demonstrations to pop songs, musicals and comedies. A variety of art forms together created a vibrant festival of youth, welcoming the New Year with spirited song and striking shows.

The event opened with the orchestra’s performance of the Orchestral Suite in D Major – French Overture. As the majestic orchestral melody began, the classic composition instantly immersed the audience in a solemn and elegant atmosphere, setting a laudable tone for the entire show.

Next, the dance performance Tunnel Version ignited the stage with its dynamic choreography. The gentle and touching rendition of Young and Beautiful, accompanied by simplistic instruments and a clear, pure voice, moved the audience deeply.

The vocal performances Rolling in the Deep and Deja Vu delivered powerful rhythms, with the singers' expressive voices bringing new life to these two iconic songs. Then, the instrumental medley of 象王行, 春到沂河, and 长相思 created a traditional Chinese atmosphere, with the melodies of three unique folk instruments expressing a distinctive Eastern charm.

Next, The Shaolin Kung Fu medley showcased the unique allure of traditional Chinese martial arts with its powerful and robust movements, forming a striking contrast with previous performances. After that, the dances Gokuraku Jōdo and My Soul once again energized the atmosphere, its buoyant rhythm filling the stage with vitality.

The vocal performances 多远都要在一起 and My Love brought the mood back to a soft and gentle benevolence, conveying sincere and touching emotions. The piano pieces Un Sospiro and Wilde Jagd featured shifting melodies and dynamic rhythms, telling different stories through their two contrasting tunes.

         The  class performance A Million Dreams depicted the students' hopes and visions for the future with beautiful vocals and instrumentals. Finally, the musical excerpt Come From Away: Welcome to the Rock combined a theatrical performance with vocal artistry, offering the audience an immersive experience into the beauty of musicals.

         The campus geo-guesser mini-game and the first round of the lottery were held between the first two acts, filling the auditorium with lighthearted joy. The audience took part in the game with enthusiasm, and the lottery was filled with suspense and anticipation. Every drawing of a prize sparked waves of cheers, spreading the excitement and happiness throughout the venue.

he performances in the second act were just as brilliant. The band performance of Rose by Dippper Power ignited the stage with with iconic energy through the harmonic blend of instruments and vocals. The dance Kiss & Tell + Whiplash featured lively rhythms, and the dancers’ seamless choreography created an impressive visual experience.

The instrumental piece A Song for Love carried a romantic melody, while Por Una Cabeza delivered the distinctive flair of tango—both rhythmic and elegant. The class performance of My Love demonstrated the deeply resonating power of music as the audience sang along with the performers, filling the auditorium with warmth and joy.

The dance 碧雨悠兰 presented graceful choreography, with movements flowing naturally with the music and showcasing the grace of Eastern dance. The vocal performances of Jazz Age and Only Us infused a jazz style, and the performers’ mellow voices added a retro ambiance to the scene.

The instrumental performance Like a Star featured clear, bright melodies plucked from the strings of the guitar, while the class chorus 像你这样的朋友 expressed the warmth of youth and friendship, its sincere lyrics resonating with the hearts of the audience. The opening from the original Chinese musical piece 徐悲鸿 blended a traditional story with the form of musical theatre, attracting the audience with its creativity and artistic imagination.

The lottery grand prize at the end of the second act pushed the atmosphere to its zenith. When the final lucky number was announced, the entire venue erupted in enthusiastic cheers. This New Year surprise added even more thrill and joy to the event.

The third act featured a variety of performances just as rich as the previous two. The band performance of 水星记 offered a gentle melody that drew the audience into a romantic musical atmosphere, while the band piece Butterfly was lively and full of spirited energy.

The dance Perfect Night radiated vitality, with choreography and lighting intertwining to showcase the beauty of youth. The dance 澜水见月圆 created a poetic and graceful mood as the dancer moved fluidly like moonlight shimmering on water.

The class performance 稻香 awakened many childhood memories with its cheerful rhythm,  encouraging the audience to sway along. The instrumental piece La Fille Aux Cheveus De Lin featured a fresh, vivid melody that painted a delicate musical picture, while the vocal performance Bring Him Home from the musical Les Miserables was deeply emotional and powerfully resonant.

The excerpt from the musical 诞生 came alive through the cast’s heartfelt acting, while the comedy “Snow White" brought constant laughter with its humorous reinterpretation and exaggerated portrayal of characters. The dance performance “The Matador” overflowed with exotic passion, each step radiating bold, striking energy.

The piano solo “Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 – Finale Coda” showcased masterful technique with its intricate and stunning melodies. Finally, the band medley How Could I Forget You, Emma, and A Step You Can’t Take Back took the stage as the climactic closing performance and reignited the energy in the auditorium. The Overture of Alvima brought the New Year Party to a perfect close with the stirring and powerful electronic organ melodies.

 

As the final note faded away, the 2026 New Year Party had already filled every heart with resplendent memories. The New Year Party successfully blended traditional and modern forms of art and celebrated both Eastern and Western aesthetics. Meanwhile, all the performances represent our best wishes and vivid hopes for the new year. May we continue to shine with this dazzling energy and artistic passion in the upcoming 2026!
