G9:A Trip to  the Romantic Show of Shanghai

Autumn brought forth the once-a-semester field trip for the students of Shanghai Starriver Bilingual School. On October 11th, 2025, the grade nine students went on a trip to The Romantic Show of Shanghai. Upon their arrival, they first journeyed together to the Time Travel Street where there are many vintage stores on both sides of the pavement, mimicking the styles of Shanghai a few decades ago. Whilst walking along the retrospective signs flashing old-styled neon lights, students instantly felt that they moved back to the time when those old stores had thrived.

At 10:30, they went to watch the Shanghai Romance Show, which followed Shanghai’s transformation from an insignificant fishing village to a cosmopolitan city with global influence. In just an hour, the Show presented its audience with a special opportunity to explore Shanghai’s history. All of the students exclaimed at the quality of the stage effects, and were moved by the extraordinary dedication the actors poured into the performance. At 11:30, the students were separated into individual groups, and were free to roam the park, in search of activities such as a tour in the haunted house, a VR experience, an expedition in the maze, etc. This unique experience of The Romantic Show of Shanghai has allowed students to gain a better understanding of the city they live in and bond with the people around them.
