Claire gave a brief introduction to the first half of her setlist:
“ Good afternoon, everyone.Thank you for coming to my concert. I'm Claire Zhang from Grade 8 Class 4. Since I was 5 years old, piano has been an important part of my life. Through studying and practicing the piano, I learned how to appreciate the feelings in music, and also learned to express my emotions through my performance. The piano has become the link between my spiritual world and the musical world. In a piece of music, the notes are woven into beautiful melodies through different beats, expressions, song forms, and structures, telling the stories of the composers. Every time I play music, I feel like I'm talking to the composer, which makes my mind vibrant.
In fact, it is not easy to practice the piano everyday, since it requires not only patience and determination, but also a high degree of concentration, but it motivates me to persevere until I make progress. It made me realize how difficult it is to succeed. After practicing again and again, I finally realized that the piano is my passion, and I will go on this road continually.
Today, I have prepared a few representative classical style pieces for you. In the first half, the two pieces come from Bach and Mozart, respectively.
Bach is known as the "father of Western music", his works are of great artistic value, and his "12 equal temperaments" are of great significance to the tuning and development of keyboard instruments in later generations and even in modern times. This prelude and fugue in D minor fully embody the characteristics of Bach's composition and the solemn style of religious music of the Baroque period. Please enjoy.
Mozart was one of the most accomplished musicians of the classical period, his music was natural and fluid, childlike and dramatic, never pretentious. This sonata in D major is all about melody and emotional conflict. Please enjoy. ”
Second Half
1. Impromptu in A flat Major, D935, Op.142, No.2, Schubert
舒伯特降A大调即兴曲,作品142,第2首
2. March: Song of the Lark, Tchaikovsky
柴可夫斯基,三月“云雀之歌”
3. Etudes in G flat Major, Op.10 No.5, Chopin
肖邦练习曲,作品10,第5首
4. Impromptu in G flat Major, D899, Op.90, No.3, Schubert
舒伯特降G大调即兴曲,作品90,第3首
Claire gave a brief introduction to the first half of her setlist:
“ In the second half of the concert, I am bringing you four pieces from the Romantic period. The music style of this period is very individual, and it fully embodies the composer's personal character. Music in the romantic period developed from the early style of Schubert and Beethoven, to the middle development of Chopin, Schumann and Mendelssohn, and then to Tchaikovsky, Liszt and other masters to push it to the peak. The four pieces of music I prepared are from Schubert, Chopin and Tchaikovsky, which reflect the musical characteristics of the romantic early, middle and late periods and the personal style of the composer. Please enjoy. ”
