G5-G9 Autumn Outing in 2024

??Autumn, a season of vibrant colors, arrives quietly with its gentle breezes, ushering in a sense of renewal. In this pleasant season, our school organized a trip to Shanghai Zoo for students to feel the beauty and diversity of nature on September 26th.

?? Arriving at 10 AM, the students were eager to explore the zoo's various exhibits, and they were all very excited to walk into the zoo.

?? Their first stop was the animal and amphibian pavilion, where they encountered a fascinating array of reptiles and amphibians, from the sleek lizards to the slimy salamanders. The zoo's diverse animal collection, including rare and endangered species, offered a unique opportunity to learn about wildlife conservation and the importance of preserving biodiversity.

?? As they ventured deeper into the zoo, the students were captivated by the sight of majestic elephants, colorful birds, and intelligent primates like chimpanzees and monkeys. There, we witnessed majestic lions, graceful swans, and proud giraffes, along with many other fascinating creatures. Their lively and adorable appearances brought endless joy to all of us, as if nature's own charm had come to life before our eyes.

?? After a satisfying lunch break, the students were divided into groups and given question sheets to guide their exploration. They delved into the natural habitats, unique characteristics, and challenges in the wild.

?? By the end of the day, the students had gained valuable insights into the world of animals and the importance of protecting them. No matter a coordinator or a group leader, each of the students participated actively and gained a rich experience through independently leading, recalling, cleaning, and recording the events of the day.

?? This autumn outing brought students close to nature, offering knowledge and pleasure, leaving an unforgettable memory in everyone’s mind. It was a day filled with discovery and delight, where the laughter of students mingled with the rustling of leaves, creating experiences that will resonate long after the colors of autumn have faded.

?? On September 26th, with bright sunshine and a gentle breeze, the SSBS eighth grade and ninth grade students eagerly set off on another long-awaited field trip to Oriental Land.

?? As soon as they arrived at Oriental Land, the students were attracted by its unique charm. Cheerful chatter and laughter filled the air as the students started exploring the park in the form of groups. Some went to the model aircraft carrier to learn about national defense; some challenged themselves at the “Road of Bravery”; others traveled back and forth on the fun bridges over a stream.

?? Here, the airplanes and the massive aircraft carrier outdoors are astonishing. The students entered and visited one after another. A series of patriotic activities have also been created, such as "entering the border defense line" and "touching the footprints of the Red Army and understanding the spirit of the Red Army". The students actively explored here, as if they could feel their predecessors' struggle and great spirit.

?? During lunch, everyone sat under the shade of a tree or near the aircraft carrier, creating a pleasant atmosphere. In the afternoon, all the teachers and students went to watch a show in a circus. The brilliant spectacle showcasing trapezists, performing puppies, and much more enthralled the entire audience. A physics teacher was invited onstage to experience holding up a roughly 3-meter-high flag with one hand, afterwards commenting that what looks easy is usually not.

?? This autumn outing broadened the students’ horizons and increased their knowledge, allowing the students to get closer to nature, broaden their horizons, and leave joyful memories of friendship. This unforgettable experience is believed to inspire the students to work harder in their future lives and strive for their dreams.
