Along the way, with joyful songs and laughter, we interpret our soaring youth by gathering the shiny new stars, illuminating the teenage dreams. With the arrival of this late winter, 2024 has come to an end. To welcome 2025, SSBS Junior High School held the New Year Show on December 23rd. The students showcased their unique talents in this activity, presenting everyone with a visual and auditory feast. 

  

The first to take the stage was the SSBS Junior High School Choir, who brought the song "I Like". Their touching performance really captured the beauty and warmth of the SSBS campus, instantly igniting the audience's enthusiasm.

  

Then, Chen Xuji from Class 7-1 played the beautiful piano music "The Man I Love" for us. Liu Tianai from Class 9-4, Fang Shushen from Class 8-5, and Li Zewei from Class 9-3 also performed the three piano pieces "Prelude III by Zhang Shuai", "Hungarian Rhapsody No. 11 by Liszt", and "Rigoletto" respectively, demonstrating superb skills and sincere emotions, which attracted the attention of the whole audience. 

   

The next performance was the musical "You Will Be Found" brought by students from Grade 8 and 9, followed by the musical selections "Dust Falling into the Sea" and "Heart of Stone" by Xiang Mingyue from Class 9-6 and Shang Jiaxuan from Class 8-2 respectively.      

Zhao Hanxi from Class 8-1 presented us a string solo of “the First Movement (Excerpt) of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor”. Next, Cui Ximiao from Class 9-2 played "Forbidden City in Beijing" with an electone. Ouyang Taohan from Class 8-5 performed "Rylynn" by guitar, and Zheng Kai from Class 7-1 played "Horse Racing" by using the traditional Chinese instrument Erhu. Students showcased their splendid skills on stage, each glittering with radiant light.

    

Next came various types of dancing performances: Li Yunong from 8-2 did the Latin dance “Do Not Change”. Zhou Tong from Class 7-2 and Wang Shuxin from 8-1 performed the street dance "Lucky" and “Swag” respectively.Yang Yutong from Class 7-4 passionately acted out the musical "My Favorite Things".     

Later on, the Star School Dance Troupe brought us “Night at the museum”, followed by Chinese dances of “Red Childhood” and “Time Together across the Strait” by Ye Liuyi from 7-5 and Guo Ziqi from 7-3. Yang Ziyu from 8-6 performed the ballet solo dance Giselle Variations.

 

After that, Li Xinran from Class 8-1 and Lin Huiyan from Class 8-6 presented the song "Reincarnation Apple" and "Hero" by using jazz drums.  

The excitement continued as two bands presented "Wildfire" by the Daydreamers and an original song "Guiding Lights" played by the Entropy. The lively performances were gripping and aesthetically pleasing indeed.

Finally, the event came to an end with the beautiful melody of "All I Want for Christmas Is You" sung by the Acapella Band and expat teachers, successfully concluding the 2025 New Year Show of SSBS Junior High School. We would like to express our gratitude to all the teachers and students for their efforts and devotions. May we remain steadfast in our ideals and work together towards a better future in 2025!
