If spring had a color, it would surely be hidden in your paintbrush. This April, you are invited to fill in a fun blank with color — 'Color Me________'. Happy, brave, curious, warm… What word would you use to define yourself? At this Art Salon exhibition, every young artist （Chanelie、Zijun、Roger）is a unique color. Let the whole spring see your answer.

01 Chanelie      

Hello everyone, I'm Chanelie Shen from Class 6, Grade 3. I'm participating in this art salon with five of my pieces. Let's take a look! The first is titled "Forest Waltz," depicting a little girl and animals dancing in the forest. I hope you can feel the happiness that comes with being in harmony with nature. This piece won the Gold Award at the Hans Christian Andersen International Art Competition. "Rice Fragrance" is a wheat field that I painted using Van Gogh's techniques to convey the excitement of harvest season. It won the Gold Award at the 4th Vincent van Gogh International Youth Art Competition. "Dream" captures the quirky and cute thoughts of a little dog and won the Gold Award at the Picasso International Youth Painting Competition. "Spring Stroll of the Puppy" and "The Flower Field of the Future" capture the tenderness of spring in watercolor.Among them, "The Flower Field of the Future" also won the gold medal at the Venice International Youth Art Competition.

I hope you feel joy and warmth from my paintings. I will continue to freely use my brush and create more works. Thank you all!

02 Zijun    

Hello everyone，I am Zijun Liu. I am glad to introduce my four pieces of still life series inspired by everyday life, featuring bright and vivid colors.

Spring on the Table depicts green plants with layered shades of green to present gradual light and shadow, capturing the vibrant vitality of spring on a tea table.

In Sunflower Rhapsody, the sunflowers are rendered with bold, vivid hues, creating a striking contrast against the mottled dark grey and dusty pink walls. This piece shows my attempt at the Fauvist style.

Afternoon Tea portrays a leisurely afternoon moment by the window under soft sunlight through rich and varied colors. With gorgeous visuals, flowing lines and distinct light and shadow layers, this work is my exploration of Baroque art.

Childhood Room adopts abundant lines, dots and decorative patterns. Through the layered collision of warm and cold tones, I recreated my childhood bedroom in a distinct Pop Art style.

I love experimenting with diverse art styles and recording the beauty of life with my brush. I sincerely hope everyone can discover and embrace the warmth of life.

03 Roger     

Among the five works on display, each piece carries my observations and feelings. From the charcoal horse head created in the Year of the Horse, to the finely detailed depiction of a glass Coke bottle in pencil; from the oil painting of a clown exploring the hidden emotions behind a smile, to the vibrant summer lime slice brought to life with oil pastels, and finally to the acrylic painting of a black cat holding a star, roaming the universe. These works prove that whether it’s a living being or an everyday object, through careful observation and patient depiction, extraordinary details and stories can emerge. I’ve learned to use light, shadow, texture, and color to express emotions. I hope these artworks invite you to slow down, discover the greatness in the ordinary, see the stories behind every object, and embrace the power of imagination and courage.

"Color Me________” the question completed by the children with their paintbrushes. The answers are far more wonderful than we could have ever imagined. Spring is in full bloom, and art endures. May these young artists, in the days ahead, continue to ride on the wings of their dreams and live by the names of their colors, defining their own boundless possibilities.
