G1-G4 Opening Ceremony

On March 1st, our Grade 1-4 students had a wonderful opening ceremony for the new semester.

Ms. Wynne wished students energy in the Year of the Horse and encouraged them to build good habits, be kind, and face challenges bravely. Mr. Gu compared the new semester to a sports meet, urging students to embrace sports, be brave, and learn teamwork. Ms. Cheryl welcomed students back and encouraged them to be curious learners, respectful individuals, resilient challengers, and creators who embrace life. Mr. Brian engaged students with interactive questions and inspired them to embody the horse's qualities—hard work, pride, and helping others—as they pursue their goals this semester.

Four student representatives also shared their thoughts and aspirations at the ceremony. Lisa from Class 1-2 compared herself to a sprouting seed, describing her journey from shyness to independence and encouraging everyone to bravely "grow their own leaves." Elvin from Class 2-1 shared three habits that support his learning—organizing supplies, correcting mistakes, and exercising—and called on classmates to learn from one another. Mabel from Class 3-4 drew inspiration from Eileen Gu, urging students to face challenges head-on and become the masters of their own learning. Harvey from Class 4-8 reminded everyone that kindness is a superpower, and that even small acts of care can bring warmth to others and light up the world.

Then we had the exciting prize-presenting of ten stars and the most beautiful classroom awards. The new campus life has begun. Let's pursue our dreams and enjoy school life together.
