The SSBS Rowing Team Achieved Remarkable Success in the 47th HK Rowing Championships
In the recently concluded 47th Hong Kong Rowing Championships, the SSBS Rowing Team fought hard and achieved outstanding results, winning one gold and one bronze medal, adding more glory to SSBS!
This event was hosted by the Hong Kong, China Rowing Association and was held grandly on the Shing Mun River in Sha Tin from November 14th to 16th, 2025. The event brought together 57 rowing clubs from across Asia, with over 700 athletes competing. Mr. Jean-Christophe Rolland, the president of the International Rowing Federation, was present to watch the competition and award the prizes, and had a friendly exchange with the athletes, witnessing this grand rowing event together.
In
the fierce competition, the SSBS Rowing Team fought bravely
and lived up to expectations, achieving one gold and one
bronze medal.
What is particularly inspiring is that among the 40 athletes who participated in this competition, most of them have been rowing for less than a year. There are even new freshmen who joined the rowing team and started from scratch, reaching the starting line of the Hong Kong competition in just two months. Facing strong opponents, they did not lose heart or give up, focusing on improving themselves and growing through competition. They persisted in getting up at six in the morning every week for training and then rushed to class immediately after. On weekends, they actively coordinated their time to practice with their teammates in silence, all for the sake of being one second faster and then one second faster on the competition field!
After returning from the competition, a new journey lies ahead. As the weather turns cooler, the team is about to enter the winter training phase. The athletes will turn from the glory of Hong Kong and throw themselves into training with even greater enthusiasm, actively preparing for several important events in 2026 to create new glories.
May all SSBS students integrate the spirit of rowing into their daily studies and lives, constantly surpass themselves, and become more resilient and courageous individuals.
