SSBS Magic-Themed Exhibition
From October 13th to 17th, 2025, a unique magic-themed exhibition was held in the atrium on the fourth floor of the high school section of SSBS. This event was planned by Zhu Yuxuan from Class 12-6, with the theme of "Breaking Stereotypes · Witnessing Miracles". It aimed to change people's preconceptions about playing cards by showcasing the intricate beauty and artistry of card tricks and magic.
In the interview, Zhu Yuxuan candidly stated that he wanted to answer two questions through this exhibition: How can magic be considered art? And how does it gently touch people's hearts with kindness? In his eyes, magic is not an illusory trick but a poem interwoven with laws and imagination: it weaves suspense with objective mechanisms and illuminates reality with warm narratives. What's more, he incorporated the respect and patience he accumulated from public welfare performances into the exhibition details, allowing the audience to not only be amazed but also feel the gentle resonance between art and the human heart.
The exhibition unfolds through five modules—History, Mechanisms, Narrative, Aesthetics, and Social Value: it opens with masters from different schools in the history of magic; the “Mechanisms” section reveals, from a magician’s perspective, the craft inside each effect; the “Narrative” section pairs each simple effect with real stories to highlight the pull of performance; the “Aesthetics” section presents the refinement of card artistry; and the final “Social Value” section stresses the human, moving side of magic and the core idea of “zero gambling.” Overall, after each day’s themed content, both enthusiasts and general visitors can gain deeper insight and broaden their understanding.
