The "Seeing a Different Summer" Summer Short Film Exhibition aimed to explore the life stories of different groups, highlighting diversity and warmth. The participants used about two-minute short films to capture unique moments and perspectives with their cameras, presenting rich and sincere expressions. Here are some of the outstanding works on display:
Zhou Ziyue
Introduction: This summer, we ventured deep into the Dabie Mountains and used our cameras to record the two days we spent with the children of Yinshanfan. This record was divided into six chapters: Friends, Beaded Bracelets and Games, Homecoming, Eggs, Adventure, and Making Dumplings. In the moments spent with the children, time seemed to slow down, allowing us to experience another way of life. Through the children's perspective, the short film showcases the most authentic life of rural children - they long for companionship, lack material resources, yet remain optimistic and hospitable. Through sincere interaction, the film conveys a warm two-way emotion. We were touched by the children's sincerity, resilience, and pure love for life, and we also did our best to bring them joy.
Comment: Zhou Ziyue's short film has the most complete narrative and the editing rhythm is also smooth and natural. It fully shows the interaction with local children during the teaching support process and also presents the unique life stories of these children.

Zhu Zimo
Introduction: Since I was a child, I have always remembered Aunt Xiaofang, who would show up at my home punctually every noon. To me, Aunt Xiaofang was an intermediary: neither a host nor a stranger; neither a relative nor a stranger. A domestic helper is a "substitute" for the family, filling in for the absence of parents and children. However, in their own lives, they are often forced to become "absentees", with the vacancies they leave being filled by the elderly at home. When they themselves grow old, they need to fill in for their children. Their lives are structurally divided, postponed, and replaced, helplessly falling into the cycle of substitution and absence. They are both inside and on the periphery of two families, living in the cracks. Through experimental video, I narrate the story of her and the employer's family from the perspective of the domestic helper, integrating the fragments of our memories, reflecting the contradictions in her family role, and calling on people to pay attention to their own and their families' predicaments, and to give them an appropriate social status.
Comment: Zhu Zimo's short film demonstrates innovative shooting and editing techniques. According to the creative explanation, his short film reflects the repetitive cycle of domestic workers stepping in and out of positions through the repetition of daily household chores, which is thought-provoking.

Xiao Ranzhe
Introduction:While rushing to finish homework, I had a sudden inspiration, feeling that summer is like a dream: strange, fleeting, and even distorted. And the video became a flat space to preserve this dream.
Comment: Xiao Ranzhe's short film demonstrates exceptional editing skills.

Introduction: Memories of summer are like an old-fashioned gramophone. The hot air and simple life add a filter to time, making it slow down. This film captures scenes characteristic of summer, aiming to recreate the carefree childhood vacations through bright colors and lively characters, allowing viewers to experience the warmth of life in the fast-paced world and bring a pleasant experience. At the same time, it records the beautiful moments in the lives of different people in the countryside, such as the elderly and children, expressing that the beauty of life transcends regions, ages, and identities, and is shared by people under the same blue sky. It also hopes to remind everyone through a microcosmic perspective not to lose themselves in the hustle and bustle of life.
Comment:The everyday scenes of summer life come together to form the warmth of humanity.
