学校概况

上海星河湾双语学校成立于2012年，是一所专注于提供1-12年级高品质教育的民办双语学校。

学校全面贯彻党的教育方针，落实立德树人的根本任务。贯彻“中国核、世界流”、“出得去、回得来”的办学理念，特别强调民族根基、国际视野、创新精神、协作能力及社会责任感的培养。

学校1-9年级教授国家义务制教育课程，在数学、科学、物理、化学、生物等学科实施双语教学，强调因材施教，提供多种类、多项目的选修课，充分发展学生的兴趣爱好和特长。

学校10-12年级以四门国家课程为核心，完成普通高中“双新”实施方案的必修部分88学分，突出学生核心素养及学科核心素养的形成和发展。根据不同学生不同专业发展的需求，提供相应的AP专业课程。旨在从境界、修养、学力、潜能四个维度发展学生个性，适应二十一世纪社会发展的要求。

学校拥有一支具备20多年国际教育管理及课程实施经验的团队，凭借高效的管理和优异的教学实绩，得到了社会各界以及国际知名大学的广泛认可。

Shanghai Starriver Bilingual School (SSBS) was established in 2012 with the goal of providing outstanding K-12 education. Under the guidance of the Chinese government, our private bilingual school has a unique philosophy which can be summed up with the phrase: "Chinese Identity with a Global Perspective."

Our aim is to develop students who are equipped with the ability to study abroad with the goal of returning to China to use their skills and expertise within their home country. SSBS students have an innovative spirit, are educated with social awareness and an emphasis on patriotism, are prepared for global cooperation, and develop applicable skills for the Chinese and global marketplace.

Grades 1 to 9 take part in the Chinese National Compulsory Education, of which the subjects Mathematics, Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are taught bilingually. Students in grades 10 to 12 take four subjects of the Chinese National Curriculum as part of their core studies, and integrate AP courses for their specialized learning pathway. This approach not only aims to develop the potential of our whole student body, but also helps students to develop core literacy in their subjects of study and furthermore provides personalized learning assistance through remedial classes for students who need additional support with fundamental skills. We help students develop four crucial aspects: astuteness, diligence, integrity and aptitude. Through them, they develop their unique personality and adapt themselves to the needs of the 21st century.

Our SSBS team has more than 20 years of international educational management experience and an extensive background in curriculum development and implementation. Having a highly efficient management team has allowed SSBS to achieve many impressive milestones since its founding, cementing its reputation as a quality education provider from many areas of Chinese society, and universities all over the world.

我校教师具有极强的教育和学术背景，中方教师90%以上具有硕士及以上学位，近半数拥有海外留学经历，其中不乏毕业于北大、清华、复旦、交大、哥大、约翰斯霍普金斯、帝国理工等国内外名校；外籍教师100多名，毕业于宾大、南加州、多伦多大学等世界顶尖学府，半数以上的外教具有10年及以上教学经验。各学科骨干教师均具备教授高水平国际课程的资质，他们熟悉AP课程教学，拥有扎实的专业知识和教学功底，目前我校有College Board（美国大学理事会）认证的AP全球考官超过20名。学校通过中外教师深度融合协作与跨年级跨学段无缝衔接的教学实践，保证了高质量的教育教学水平。

我校所有教师均本着“学生优先”原则为学生和家长提供最优质的教育教学服务。此外，上海市基础教育国际课程比较研究所还为各学科提供了全方位的教学指导和支持。

Our teaching faculty has strong educational backgrounds and a commitment to utilizing their training and skills to best meet the needs of their students. Our international teaching team is made up of more than 100 staff members, the majority of whom are graduates from leading international universities. More than half of our international teachers have over ten years of teaching experience. Our specialist teachers have extensive training and experience that has extensively prepare them to teach the high-level skills that are required for providing AP subject courses. Over twenty members of our staff are registered AP readers from the College Board. Over 90% of our local Chinese teachers hold a master's degree and above. Almost half of them have received their degrees and training from overseas universities, while the rest have graduated from leading Chinese universities.

SSBS advocates in depth integration and cooperation between local Chinese teachers and international teachers to ensure that students are given a high level of care and support, and that teaching methodologies are rigorous. The fundamental principle of SSBS education is that we put students first and provide the best possible educational services to students and parents alike.

Highly-Integrated Curriculum

高度兼容的课程实施方案

学校1至9年级的课程实施方案以国家义务制教育阶段的教学要求为核心，适度吸收国际先进教育元素，在部分学科中引入双语教学，突显高度兼容的星校特色。

小学、初中阶段课程实施方案分为奠基课程实施方案、基础课程实施方案I和基础课程实施方案II三部分。所有初中学生按上海市教委的要求，参加并通过义务制教育阶段各学科学业水平考试。

高中的发展课程实施方案面向10-12年级学生，基于国家新课程主体框架，以国家标准为核心，整合国际先进教育元素。中国课程实施方案包括语文、政治、历史、地理，所有学生在高中阶段均参加且通过四门会考学科的学业水平考试，并落实国家的“双新”计划。

Following SSBS’ philosophy of “Chinese Identity with a Global Perspective,” we aim to instill and develop positive traits within our students, so that they can become astute, studious, virtuous and promising.

The SSBS curriculum from grades 1-9 strictly adheres to the Chinese Compulsory Education Curriculum. We also absorb certain beneficial elements from international curricula. We teach some subjects bilingually, which demonstrates that this high level of integration is a unique feature of SSBS.

At our school, primary and middle school curricula are divided into the lower primary curriculum, the upper primary curriculum and the middle school curriculum. According to the Shanghai Education Commission, all of our middle school graduates must participate in and pass all required national exams.

The high school curriculum is based on the Chinese national curriculum framework, according to the Chinese curriculum standards, integrated with the beneficial elements from international education systems. The Chinese course includes, Chinese Politics, Chinese History and Chinese Geography. All high school students must participate in and pass four national subject tests.

奠基课程实施方案面向1-3年级学生，从品德与行为、感悟与实践、汉语与英语、数量与空间四个维度出发，为学生的终身学习与发展，奠定坚实的基础。

Courses seek to develop the following disciplines: morals and behavior, reflection and practice, Chinese and English, and numbers and space.

基础课程实施方案I面向4-5年级学生。立足于学生实际，在奠基课程实施方案的基础上，进一步强调夯实学科核心素养，提升综合能力，建立学生的自信心。学生小学毕业时，综合素养优秀，语文和数学达到优质小学的水平，英语阅读和语言的表达能力基本达到同学段母语水平，不仅可衔接双语学校，也可以顺利进入其它优质初中学习。

Based on students' actual proficiency levels, in addition to the lower primary curriculum, we further solidify students' core literacy, improve their overall academic abilities, and establish students' self-confidence. When students graduate from our primary school, they'll have a quality fundamental education. Their chinese and mathematics will have reached the level of high-quality elementary schools, and their English reading comprehension and linguistic expression will be close to native level. Not only can they transfer to studying in a bilingual school, but additionally they'll be well qualified to transfer to any other quality middle school and continue their studies.

基础课程实施方案II面向6-9年级学生，由德育课程实施方案、学术课程实施方案和探究课程实施方案组成，通过合理的课程实施方案，突出扬长思路，激发个性潜能，培养优势方向。我校的基础课程实施方案为学生步入高中阶段的学习打下扎实根基，并在英语学科和学科英语上展现极大优势，学生的志趣开始成形，个性特长初露端倪。初中阶段全体学生都参加各门学科学业水平考试，并取得不俗成绩。

This part of the curriculum is composed of Ethics, Academics and Research courses. Through convenient and flexible course schedules, we allow students to explore their strengths and stimulate their personal potential while proriding advice and support for their future pursuit. These years are critical to laying the foundation for creating a pathway for their future study, both in high school and beyond, as well as for their future careers.

When students graduate from our middle school, they have a significant lead in English, not only as a language, but also its application in other subject classes. At this time, students already know what they are interested in and they are begining the development of their personality. All middle school graduates must take the required national examination and each year receive high results.

高中的发展课程实施方案面向10-12年级学生，基于国家新课程主体框架，以国家标准为核心，整合国际先进教育元素。中国课程实施方案包括语文、政治、历史、地理，所有学生在高中阶段均参加且通过四门会考学科的学业水平考试，并落实普通高中“双新”实施方案。

同时我校在College Board（美国大学理事会）的授权下，开设了近30门AP科目，其中包括capstone、英语文学、英语语言、物理4门、生物、环境科学、经济2门、微积分2门、统计、计算机2门、心理、艺术类5门等自然与人文学科，学生根据“扬长平短”的个人需要自由选择，体现了高中课程实施方案的多样性、前沿性和高选择性，旨在帮助学生具备深厚的家国情怀、专业优势凸显的知识结构和开阔的国际视野。

The high school curriculum is based on the Chinese national curriculum framework, according to the Chinese curriculum standards, integrated with the beneficial elements from international education systems. The Chinese course includes, Chinese Politics, Chinese History and Chinese Geography. All high school students must participate in and pass four national subject tests.

The curriculum, consisting of academic courses and opportunities for developing mastery, aims to broaden students’ educational experiences and challenges them to develop their own philosophy and morality. Comprehensive evaluation is developed to measure the extent to which students have mastered knowledge, understandings and application skills in their respective subjects. To this end, SSBS offers high school students nearly 30 AP subjects, such as Capstone Seminar, English Literature, Physics, Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Economics, Calculus, Statistics, Philosophy, Computer Science and Social Studies, among others. Students can select subjects according to their strengths and weaknesses, as well as interests. This demonstrates that the high school curriculum has three features: a diversity of subjects, cutting-edge methodologies, and a broad offering of elective courses. We help students to possess a deep love of country, have better preparation for their university major through our curriculum and we broaden their view to a global perspective.

截至2022学年，千余名在校学生，在学业和各类活动中屡创佳绩，取得骄人成绩。

As of the 2022 academic year, we have more than 1,000 students enrolled at our school. They have obtained excellent results and significant achievements not only in academics, but also in sports, arts, speech competitions, robotics competitions, etc.

全校初小学生广泛参与校内外各类交流活动和比赛，并在区级、市级、国家级乃至国际级多项活动中斩获佳绩。初小学生所获荣誉覆盖多个学科和领域，如全国中学生演讲与辩论（NSAD）全国即兴演讲冠军、在21世纪英语演讲比赛中包揽小学高年级组冠亚军、英语演讲与辩论五项展评（ESDP）上海赛区一等奖、在CTB和HIMCM等赛事中，我校初中生组成的团队与高中生同台竞技，荣获全国二等奖、AMC10全球卓越奖、世界青年桥牌公开锦标赛第三名、上海市科创大赛青少年科技创新成果一等奖、VEX机器人亚洲公开赛一等奖和技能冠军、上海市中小学生人工智能算法设计活动一等奖、全国啦啦操竞赛技巧第一名、上海市运动会网球青少年组多个项目的第一名、李斯特国际青少年钢琴大赛中国选拔赛金奖、加拿大UBC中加友好国际青少年艺术节一等奖、上海市学生艺术单项比赛钢琴金奖等。

All primary and middle school students in SSBS are active participants in activities and competitions on and off campus. They have received many prizes on municipal, national and even international level, covering a myriad of areas, such as sports, art, and academics. Our candidates have won the national championship in NSAD (National Students Speech and Debate), national championship and runner-up in the Twenty-First Century Speech Competition as well as first prize in ESDP (English Speech and Debate Pentathlon). In CTB (China Thinks Big) and HIMCM (High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling) national competitions, our junior high students competed against high school students and won the second place. Our candidates have received Honor Roll of Distinction in AMC 10, third place in the World Youth Bridge Tournament, first prize in the Shanghai Science and Innovation Competition, and first prize at VEX Robot Asia Open. SSBS athletes have also won the first prize in the National Cheerleading Skill Competition and top prizes in Shanghai Prestigious Go Game Union League. SSBS artists have gold medal in Liszt Youth Piano Competition (China), “Canada UBC” China & Canada International Friendship Youngsters Art Festival, and many other top prizes in Shanghai Students Piano Category Art Competition.

截至2022学年，我校600余名高三毕业生，均取得了骄人的成绩。

As of the 2022 academic year, SSBS has produced around 600 graduating students, all of whom have demonstrated high levels of achievement.

我校高三毕业生收获了包括美本哈佛大学、耶鲁大学、宾夕法尼亚大学、哥伦比亚大学、杜克大学、芝加哥大学、阿默斯特学院、西北大学、约翰霍普金斯大学、布朗大学、达特茅斯学院、康奈尔大学、莱斯大学，埃默里大学、圣路易斯华盛顿大学、卫斯理女子学院、塔夫茨大学、加州大学洛杉矶分校、加州大学伯克利分校南加州大学、卡内基梅隆大学、纽约大学；法国巴黎政治学院以及英国牛津大学、剑桥大学、帝国理工学院、伦敦大学学院等世界顶尖学府的录取。

全校学生广泛参与校内外各类交流活动和比赛，每年在区级、市级、国家级、国际级约40余类竞赛中的获奖人数过百人次，其中，高中学生在美国国家经济竞赛（NEC）中获得全球总冠军，物理，化学，生物均在美国奥赛，英国奥赛中获得荣誉。在美国数学奥林匹克（USAMO）中获得15分的佳绩， 同时荣获美国高中生数学建模大赛（HiMCM）世界前10%，哈佛-麻省理工数学思维挑战（HMMT）团体赛第三名等。

Our graduating students have received offers from such prestigious universities as: Harvard University，Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University，Duke University, University of Chicago, Amherst College, Northwestern University, Johns Hopkins University, Brown University, Dartmouth College,？ Cornell University, Rice University，Emory University, Washington University in St. Louis，Wellesley college, Tufts University, UCLA, UC Berkeley，University of South California, Carnegie Mellon University, New York University, Paris Institute of Political Studies，Oxford University, and Cambridge University.

All students participate in a range of competitions and exchange activities. Every year, more than 100 titles are won at district, municipal, and international level competitions, both within China and in the global arena. Among them, an SSBS high school student won the American National Economic Competition and became the global champion. SSBS students have also won the American Olympiad and the UK Olympiad in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. We also scored 15 points in USAMO, ranked in the top 10% in HiMCM, and our team placed third at the Harvard–MIT Mathematics Tournament, among others.
